Even though we live on a tiny island it can be hard to find people who feel the same way. If you've been feeling lonely without a place to go, we're here for you!

Weekly To-Dos
Tell your Democratic representative to hold the line in the government funding battle. The government will shut down on Friday night unless Congress can pass a spending bill. Democrats came to the table with a simple demand: guardrails to ensure that the funding allocated by Congress is actually spent and not frozen by Trump, Musk and the DOGE kids. Instead, Republicans put forward a partisan bill that actually gives Trump and Musk more discretion to use taxpayer funds however they choose. No Democrat should vote for this bill.
Learn MoreTell your Democratic senator to hold the line, too. If this bill makes it through the House, there will be a lot of pressure on Senate Democrats to vote for it. But amidst this constitutional crisis, Dems should be doing everything possible to stop Trump and Musk's assault on our government, not greenlighting legislation that gives them more power to choose which programs to fund or starve of resources.
Learn MoreRegardless of who represents you, get ready for the Musk or Us recess. A shutdown could change the schedule slightly, but every Member of Congress is currently expected to be returning to their states and districts from March 15-23. This is an opportunity to hold Republicans accountable for the lawless chaos we’re enduring, and to demand Democrats fight back.
Learn MoreProcess the news with Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg. Every Thursday at 9am HST, we take a step back to absorb the news of the past week, draw inspiration from the work Indivisibles and allies are doing all across the country, and talk about how we fight back. With a government shutdown looming, attacks on the Department of Education expectedly imminently, and some big announcements coming from the Indivisible team, there'll be a lot to talk about. Call your members of Congress!
We've made this easier with handy tap-to-call buttons. If you've never done it before, scroll down a bit and read our tips for making effective calls.
Right now our representatives want to talk to anyone who has been fired by President Musk. Be sure to leave clear callback information if this is you!
Kaua'i has three members of Congress, two in the Senate and one in the House of Representatives. Here they are:
Senator Brian Schatz
(808) 523-2061 (202) 224-3934
Senator Mazie Hirono
(808) 522-8970 (202) 224-6361
Representative Jill Tokuda (808) 746-6220 (202) 225-4906
Making Effective Calls
Keep it simple, brief, and to the point. If it helps, write it down before calling. Be sure to mention that you are a constituent, and say your city and ZIP code. This is super important if you wind up talking to voice mail!
The assistant you reach may not be familiar with the issue you're calling about, so have something basic to say if it sounds like they need to be brought up to speed.
Be courteous, kind, and polite. Share why you care; if you have a personal story to tell, be sure to share it.
